Language Arts Department goal

Our department goal is by the end of the school year, 80% of our students will receive a 3.5 or higher on the mock FL Writes essay portion. 80% of our students will receive an 80% or higher on the multiple choice portions of the mock test. We are working on this goal through both the LA classes and the creative writing classes. We give mock essay and multiple choice (grammar, spelling, conventions) tests periodically throughout the year and allow the students feedback to improve themselves. Our curriculum is also based on literature and grammar, through the use of the BK English and Glencoe Literature textbooks.
