Principal:

Dr. Chevoneese Anderson Thomas EdD, (Dr A T) is thrilled to be the Principal at Varsity Lakes Middle School. Before Varsity, she was an Assistant Principal at Island Coast High School. Her education was launched in Jamaica, where she earned a teaching and management degree. Her graduate and post graduate studies were accomplished at Nova Southeastern University of Florida. Prior to being an assistant principal, she served as teacher, project coordinator, marketer, and data coach. She believes that school is a microcosm of the world, and every student is capable of being successful.  As a former classroom teacher both in regular and exceptional education, she combines business and education best practices to foster efficient and well managed learning atmosphere to support a successful learning atmosphere.

Assistant Principals:

Ms. Amber Kelty is an Assistant Principal at Varsity Lakes Middle School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Florida Gulf Coast University and her Master's Degree in Business Administration, as well as her Education Specialist Degree in K–12 Leadership, from Grand Canyon University. Before becoming an assistant principal, Ms. Kelty served as a classroom teacher, teaching kindergarten, 7th-grade mathematics, 8th-grade mathematics, and 8th-grade AVID. Throughout her educational career, she has also held leadership roles including Parent Involvement Specialist, Dean of Student Discipline, and Middle School Dean Lead. Ms. Kelty is passionate about building strong relationships with students, families, and staff while fostering a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. She is committed to promoting student success, supporting teachers, and partnering with families to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

Ms. Fallynn Guardado is a proud Assistant Principal at Varsity Lakes Middle School. Raised and educated in Lee County schools, she is deeply committed to serving the community that helped shape her into the educator and leader she is today. Ms. Guardado earned her degree from Edison State College and later completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Throughout her career in education, she has remained dedicated to building strong, meaningful relationships with students, teachers, and families. She believes that every student has the ability to achieve their goals when supported by a caring school community that fosters high expectations, encouragement, and opportunity. As both an educator and a parent, Ms. G understands the importance of partnership between home and school. She is the proud mother of three children—two daughters currently attending college and a son in elementary school—who continue to inspire her passion for education and lifelong learning. Outside of school, Ms. G enjoys spending quality time with her family, visiting theme parks, concerts, and traveling to new places. She is honored to serve the students, staff, and families of Varsity Lakes Middle School and remains committed to helping every student succeed both academically and personally.

Mr. Alexander Ledo is an Assistant Principal at Varsity Lakes Middle School. He graduated from Havana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language. Mr. Ledo came to the United States and completed a Master of Science in Education at Le Moyne College. He also obtained a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Mr. Ledo worked as a teacher for eighteen years at the elementary, middle, and high school levels; he served as Department Chair and Dean of Students. He is also a professional developer and life-long learner. He aims to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, to create a safe learning environment conducive to academic growth. He loves to travel and enjoys gardening, bicycling, and fishing.
