The Adult ESOL Program offers noncredit English language instruction aimed at enhancing the employability of the state’s workforce by developing essential communication skills and cultural competencies. These courses are designed for adults seeking to improve their ability to speak, read, and write in English.

Fall 2026 ESOL (English Classes) and GED Classes

In-Person Class Dates: August 17 - December 3

Online Class Dates: August 31 - December 3

In accordance with FLDOE Rule 6A-6.014, the enrollment criteria for all adult general education programs require that students:

a. Be at least 16 years of age;

b. Have filed a formal declaration of intent to terminate school enrollment; and

c. Are a United States citizen or lawfully present in the United States. 

After you make your appointment to register:

  1. Arrive at the Adult & Career Education Department on your scheduled date and time. We are located at the EAST ENTRANCE of the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33966.

  2. Bring a Photo ID and $30 cash or card.

  3. Check in for your appointment with an ACE Staff Member.

  4. Complete the registration process.

  5. Pay your registration fee.

  6. Schedule your placement test, if applicable.
